VanEck has officially submitted an updated filing for its proposed Solana Staking ETF, marking a significant step toward institutional access to the Solana ecosystem. The fund, to be listed under the ticker VSOL on the Cboe BZX Exchange, will carry a management fee of 0.30%. The ETF aims to track the price performance of Solana (SOL) and incorporate staking rewards where legally permissible. This development positions VanEck as one of the first issuers to integrate staking yield within a spot crypto ETF framework, signaling growing mainstream confidence in Solana’s network fundamentals and staking economy. VanEck’s Solana ETF Vision and Structure According to the filing , the VanEck Solana ETF will hold actual SOL tokens and reflect daily valuations based on the MarketVector Solana Benchmark Rate, a pricing index built from leading trading platforms. The sponsor, VanEck Digital Assets, may stake a portion of the holdings through third-party providers like Gemini or Coinbase Custody to generate additional yield for investors. Moreover, the filing allows the flexibility to use liquid staking tokens (LSTs) in the future if regulatory conditions permit. Unlike traditional ETFs, the VanEck Solana Trust will not register under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Instead, it will operate as a grantor trust, similar to other spot crypto ETFs. The fund’s structure supports both in-kind and cash transactions, giving authorized participants flexibility in creating or redeeming shares. This approach aims to maintain price stability while ensuring efficient liquidity for institutional investors. Market Reaction and Solana Price Outlook Solana’s price has recently retreated to around $200.31 , down 3.7% over the past 24 hours. Despite the short-term weakness, analysts suggest the correction could be nearing completion. According to CryptosBatman, Solana’s recent A-B-C corrective wave following market turbulence likely marked a major bottom. He anticipates a short-term pullback toward the $185 fair value gap, aligning with the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement. A rebound from that zone could confirm a higher low and revive bullish momentum toward the $210 region as ETF expectations build. Source: X Reaccumulation Breakout Signals Long-Term Potential CryptoJelleNL highlights that Solana has broken out from a massive year-long reaccumulation range between $120 and $200. The pattern forms a “cup and handle” structure, often preceding major upward moves. A successful retest around the $185–$200 range could validate the breakout, setting the stage for a potential rally toward $360–$425 once renewed demand drives price discovery.
