Ripple – SEC Case Over, Huge XRP Move Expected from Coinbase!

Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, has filed an application with the CFTC to launch XRP futures. This application aims to launch XRP futures on April 21, 2025, providing a regulated avenue for both institutional and retail investors to gain exposure to XRP. Coinbase's application is also expected to potentially pave the way for spot XRP ETF approval. “We are excited to announce that Coinbase Derivatives has filed a $XRP self-certification application with the CFTC. This application provides a regulated and capital-efficient way to invest in one of the most liquid digital assets. We anticipate that the agreement will enter into force on April 21, 2025.” With this move, Coinbase becomes the second US platform to list XRP futures, following Bitnomial, which launched its first US XRP futures two weeks ago. XRP futures will be listed through Coinbase Derivatives, which has previously launched futures for assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC). Coinbase previously listed XRP futures on its international exchange in 2023, but the service was available to customers outside the U.S. In 2023, Coinbase launched XRP futures with up to 10x leverage for XRP, in addition to other major altcoins like Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Cardano (ADA). *This is not investment advice.
