As is known, yesterday the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) formally accused Chinese businessman Chen Zhi of running a large-scale cryptocurrency investment scam in more than 30 countries and filed a lawsuit. In this case, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) requested the seizure of 127,271 Bitcoin (BTC) and numerous assets, including luxury yachts and private jets. While the DOJ seized 127,271 Bitcoins, a new debate has begun regarding these BTCs. While discussions continue regarding the 127,271 Bitcoins seized by the US, a billion-dollar transfer was made from a wallet belonging to the LuBian Bitcoin mining pool from which these BTCs were stolen. According to Elliptic, these Bitcoins were stolen from LuBian Mining in 2020. $14 Billion Bitcoin Seizure Awakens Wallets! According to Lookonchain's post, one of LuBian's wallets (39DUz) moved all 9,757 BTC worth $1.1 billion after three years of inactivity. The Bitcoins were transferred to two new addresses. This transfer also comes just a day after news broke that the US government seized LuBian’s stolen assets of 127,271 BTC, worth $14.4 billion. This raised questions about whether the move was for liquidation purposes or simply an attempt to transfer funds to new wallets for security or operational reasons. One of #LuBian 's wallet(39DUz) just woke up after 3 years of dormancy — transferring all 9,757 $BTC ($1.1B) to new wallets. This comes just a day after news broke that the U.S. government is seeking to forfeit LuBian's stolen 127,271 $BTC ($14.4B). https://t.co/n6snJEHM8Y … pic.twitter.com/uoI9HRLj1G — Lookonchain (@lookonchain) October 15, 2025 What Happened? Lubian Mining emerged suddenly in early 2020 and quickly became one of the largest Bitcoin mining pools in the market. While its entry and growth did not go unnoticed, Lubian was soon hacked in December 2020, resulting in the theft of 127,000 BTC. However, the perpetrators were never identified. One of Lubian's wallets, which mysteriously disappeared suddenly in early 2021, was seized by the US just one day after being found. This seizure was the largest Bitcoin seizure in the US to date. *This is not investment advice.
