Former Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao has donated 1,000 BNB to Myanmar and Thailand earthquake relief efforts, following the launch of Binance Charity’s program. In a recent post , the head of YZi Labs revealed that he has fulfilled his promise to donate 500 BNB ( BNB ) each to Myanmar and Thailand relief efforts. According to data on BSC Scan, Zhao donated $598,025 worth of BNB on April 3 at around 8:00 AM UTC. Zhao’s donation follows the launch of Binance Charity’s program to airdrop funds to users in Thailand and Myanmar affected by the massive earthquake that occurred on March 28. The funds are expected to reach Thailand and Myanmar users by April 14. As part of the program, Zhao pledged to send 1,000 BNB to victims in Myanmar and Thailand. He called for more people to join in the initiative and donate to the earthquake relief funds to help those recovering from the tragedy. According to the Binance notice, all users in Myanmar will receive $5 worth of BNB for each user who has completed KYC. Meanwhile, users that live in the most impacted areas will receive $50 in BNB. For Binance users living in Thailand, the program only applies for Gulf Binance users who have completed their KYCs. Each user will receive $5 worth of BNB. While Gulf Binance users living in the most impacted areas will each receive $10 in BNB. Shortly after CZ announced his donation on X, BNB has dipped slightly by 0.68% according to data from crypto.news. BNB is currently valued at $598.51. Earlier this year, CZ donated 150 BNB, valued at around $100,000 at the time, to victims of the LIBRA memecoin scam.
